Works that imagine the best and worst versions of our future world, and the possibilities and pitfalls of reinventing our social, cultural and political structures.

This year, the creative development of experimental work in familiar physical spaces—rehearsal rooms, studios, theatres, and via travel and residencies—has necessarily ceased. During this time, Performance Space and many of our colleagues have strived to support artists to continue creatively developing their work and honing their practice, often in inventive and resourceful new ways. Works are being created—and artistic experiments conducted—in artists’ homes, in lounge rooms, online and other such spaces. Social distancing, remote collaboration and distributed production and other methodologies are appearing. How will this change the face of arts practice into the future?
LIVE DREAMS will offer a series of events in which artists present their works- and ideas-in-progress to public audiences and the broader arts sector for feedback and discussion about their next steps. This is a timely moment to create new momentum for the sector and explore new possibilities for the field, as we move into the next phase of recovery.

Each day of Liveworks, LIVE DREAMS will present a series of works-in-progress under a broad theme.
